Terms of Use
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These terms cover your use of the Overdrive Ascent game and this website. The app asks you to accept them before your first game, and by playing you agree to them. How the game handles data is covered by the Privacy Policy.
1. Who can play
You must be at least 13 to play. On devices set to South Korea the minimum is 14, and on devices set to a country in the European Economic Area it is 16. The app checks this with a year-of-birth question before your first game.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and play Overdrive Ascent on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the game, and you may not reverse engineer, decompile or modify it except where that right cannot be excluded by law.
3. Your save data
Save slots are kept on your device. On iOS they are also copied to your iCloud account unless you turn that off. On Android they are copied to Google Play Games once you sign in. Speed run slots stay on the device only.
We do not hold a copy, so we cannot restore lost progress. If cloud saves are off or unavailable, progress is lost when you delete the app, wipe a slot, clear the app's storage, or lose the device. Purchases are separate and can always be restored (see below).
4. Ads
The game is free and shows ads from Google AdMob: a banner, occasional full-screen ads between runs, and optional ads you can choose to watch for a gadget charge. Some full-screen ads are followed by a coin bonus, which is never promised beforehand. What data ads use, and how to limit it, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
5. Purchases
- The game offers one one-time, non-consumable purchase, Remove Ads. It turns off the banner and full-screen ads and unlocks Speed Run mode. The optional ads for a gadget charge are still offered, and play only when you choose them. There are no subscriptions and no currency sold for money. Every part in the game is earned with in-game coins.
- Prices are set and displayed by Apple or Google in your local currency, and may change.
- Payment, taxes and receipts are handled by the platform store, not by us.
- Restoring: use the restore option in the game to re-apply the purchase on a new device or after reinstalling, with the same store account you bought it with.
- Refunds are governed by Apple's or Google's policy and are requested through them. Where local consumer law gives you a right to a refund, nothing here removes it.
6. Acceptable use
Do not try to bypass the purchase, tamper with the game's files to unlock paid content or block ads, redistribute modified builds, or tap ads deliberately or automatically to generate fake clicks or views. Doing any of these ends the licence in section 2.
7. Availability and changes
The game plays offline. Ads, purchases, restores and cloud saves need a connection. We may update the game, change or remove features, or stop offering it for sale. If a change we make affects a purchase you have already made, we will say so in the update notes.
8. Intellectual property
The game, its name, artwork, audio and code are owned by us or our licensors. Screenshots, clips and streams of your own play are fine, including monetised video, with no permission needed.
9. Disclaimer and liability
The game is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not responsible for ads served by third parties, beyond the controls described in the Privacy Policy. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost save data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date above changes. When a change is significant, the app may ask you to accept the new version.
